[PODCAST] Internet Ads Update: Google’s AdWords for Video

Google’s AdWords for Video – but what does this have to do with you?

Everything! Google’s AdWords for Video has made video marketing accessible, familiar and measurable. In this episode of Trada’s Internet Ads Update, Matt Hessler and Anna Sawyer call in from their trip around the world (this week: Lima, Peru!) to give a rundown of the four new types of video advertising available through AdWords: TrueView in-stream, TrueView in-search, TrueView in-display and TrueView in-slate.

The new AdWords for Video reporting is vastly more robust than that of Promoted Videos, and Matt and Anna offer suggestions for using the reporting features to make your video marketing content even better! Finally, a wrap-up of how bidding will work, and a quick rundown of the downsides.

Just curious why you choose sound-cloud to promote your Pod’s. I have only seen Musicians and DJ’s use that site. Nice pic btw; :-)

SoundCloud is great for some things, but podcasting is not one. Podcasting is powered by RSS and iTunes – neither of which SoundCloud does.

So I guess since she is not pod casting but recording things for people to listen to later on their Mp3 players it’s not “Pod Casting” but promoting a non proprietary bit of info to a non proprietary system. Ms Itarzewski what is it called when you use a rss feed and a nonpay 3rd pary site to promote your recordings? I am always behind when it comes to Mac lingo…

Podcasts aren’t proprietary to any platform, though the name might suggest it. Pod comes from “Portable On-Demand” and cast from “broadcast.” It’s a common misconception that podcasts are tied to the iPod (or any Apple device) – Apple was just the first company to take them to the main stream in any meaningful way. That’s true today, too as Apple is responsible for about 75% of all podcast plays (through iTunes).

Podcasts are available on just about every platform and device however. Android/iOS/iTunes/Zune/DoubleTwist/callisto.fm :) – everywhere.

To me, the definition of a podcast audio or video enclosed in an RSS feed that anyone, on any device can subscribe to. New “episodes” are automatically downloaded for later listening. Soundcloud doesn’t do that. :)
